People living in the Western Hemisphere have the highest calorie intake in the world and this naturally includes a large amount of carbohydrates being consumed. For example, the USA is know for having unreasonable portion sizes and it is the most obese country in the world. Putting two and two together it is easy to see how they have achieved this glorious feat.
