It is true that ecosystems are the names given to a community of living organisms (plants, animals, and microbes) in conjunction with non-living parts of their environment such as air, water, soil, etc. Ecosystems are defined by the relationship between both living and non-living organisms in a given area.

yes, if there was no ecosystem, there would be nothing to sustain an organism for survival
