The endpoints of the diameter of a circle are (–3, –6) and (–7, 8). Find the x-coordinate of the center of the circle.

You need to find the midpoint of the line. To get x coordinate you take (x1 + x2)/2 which is (-3+-7)/2 = -10/2 = -5. Same thing applies for y.
