Article Five of the Bill of Rights establishes that people can refuse to lodge soldiers in their homes in times of war. This article was a direct consequences of some of the laws that Britain passed before the Revolutionary War, laws that obliged the American people to lodge soldiers in their homes with or without their consent.

This is another article that protects individual freedom in the United States, and that is related with the right to private property (the home), and the right to do with that private property as one best desires.
