Let x be the distance that the snail travels for time, t. This is equal to the sum of the rate and time. Mathematically,
x = 2.36t
Substituting the known values,
x = (2.36 feet / min) x (6 minutes) = 14.16 feet
Thus, the snail travels 14.16 feet for 6 minutes.

Answer: 14.16 feet

Explanation:

Here, A snail travels at a rate of 2.36 feet per minute.

Let x represents the number of the minutes and y represents the distance covered by the snail in x minutes.

Therefore, We get a function which describes the given situation,

That is, y = 2.36 x

If we have to find out the distance covered by the snail in 6 minutes.

Then x = 6,

⇒ y = 2.36× 6 = 14.16

Thus he covered 14.16 feet in 6 minutes.
