Since it is a right triangle, then you can use the trigonometric ratio

\tan (\theta)=\frac{\text{opposite leg}}{\text{ adjacent leg}}

So, in this case, you have

\begin{gathered} \theta=29\text{ \degree} \\ \text{ adjacent leg = 16} \\ \text{ opposite leg = x} \end{gathered}

Applying the trigonometric ratio

\begin{gathered} \tan (29)=(x)/(16) \\ \text{ Multiply by 16 on both sides of the equation} \\ \tan (29)\cdot16=(x)/(16)\cdot16 \\ \tan (29)\cdot16=x \\ 8.87=x \end{gathered}
