In ecology, the interspecific competition happens when two or more individuals which came from different species would compete for the same good or resources. Some of these resources are food, living space, and others. When organisms of the same species are concerned, the competition is called intraspecific competition.

Interspecific competition, in ecology, is a form of competition in which individuals of different species compete for the same resource in an ecosystem (e.g. food or living space). The other form of competition is intraspecific competition, which involves organisms of the same species.
