we are given the sequence of data above, we are asked for teh average rate of change when n = 2 to n = 6. When n  = 2, the value is 14; when n = 6, the value is equal to 2. The rate of change is the change in the equivalent value over the change of n. The formula is (14 - 2)/ (2-6) equal to -3. answer is C
