Do you think positive parenting techniques work? Why or why not?

If you beat your kid, the kid will do whatever you want but will resent you if you tell the kid "bad boy dont do it again" they will do it again but if every time they do something bad you act like they just punched you in the gut they will feel bad about it and their conscious wont let them do it again and if they do it again they will be most likely be a bad child you will then have to send them to summer school, anger classes, or whatever your child is currently struggling with.

Positive parenting technique uses positive reinforcement to discipline or guide a child. In this case, an example could be giving him rewards whenever the child achieves something good. When something bad happens, the parent consoles him so that the child could do better through support. This technique may or may not work depending on the child and the culture of the family. If the child is applied with this technique, then the family is still chaotic and shouting everywhere, then naturally it wont work
