x+y+z=62

second number (y) is equal to the first (x) diminished by 4 means
y=x-4

third (z) is 4 times the first (x) means
z=4x

sub 4x for z and x-4 for y
x+x-4+4x=62
add like terms
6x-4=62
add 4 to both sides
6x=66
divide both sides by 6
x=11
sub
y=x-4
y=11-4
y=7
z=4x
z=4(7)
z=28

the numbers are 11,7,28

the numbers are represented by n; n-4; 4n, first choice
