Read this sentence: Florida panther, for example, has such a low population that each time one is killed on a highway, it is a catastrophic loss. What does the phrase catastrophic loss mean in this context?

A terrible storm A dead panther A national emergency A great tragedy

Well, you can eliminate "a terrible storm" and "a national emergency" because they make no sense whatsoever. Catastrophic means terrible, horrible, etc.

The answer would be a great Tragedy because it says that the Florida Panther has such a low population
