Since the total sections of the spinner are 8

Since the numbers on sections from 1 to 8

1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8

The multiples of 2 are: 2, 4, 6, 8

Then the probability of multiples of 2 is

P(M.2)=(4)/(8)=(1)/(2)

The multiples of 3 are: 3, 6

Then the probability of multiples of 3 is

P(M.3)=(2)/(8)=(1)/(4)

Since we need both, then

P(M.2\cap M.3)=(1)/(2)*(1)/(4)=(1)/(8)

The answer is 1/8
