Hello,

f(x)=12x²-8x

f(-1/2)=12*(-1/2)²-8*(-1/2)=12*1/4 +4=3+4=7

Answer B (-1/2,7)

An ordered pair is (x, y). x is the independent variable, and y is the dependent variable. y is the dependent variable because it is is dependent on the value of x.

f(x) is the same as y.

If the independent variable is -1/2 then that means the value of x is -1/2

So far we know

(-1/2, y)

That means we plug in x = -1/2 and solve for y

f(x)= 12x² - 8x
f(-1/2) = 12(-1/2)^2 - 8(-1/2)
f(-1/2) = 12(1/4) - 8(-1/2)
f(-1/2) = 3 - (-4)
f(-1/2) = 3 + 4
f(-1/2) = 7

The dependent variable is 7.

The ordered pair is (-1/2, 7)

Your final answer is B.
