What is the equation of a line that is perpendicular to y=3x-2 and passes through the point (6,8)

y = 3x - 2 comparing to y = mx + c, slope m = 3

For a perpendicular line, slope is negative reciprocal = -1/3

Using point (6, 8)

y - 8 = (-1/3)(x - 6)

3y - 24 = -x + 6

3y + x = 6 + 24

3y + x = 30
