I will assume that A = 72 yd^2 is the area of the rhoumbus.
The formula of the area is diagona 1 * diagonal 2 / 2
Then d1*d2 / 2 = 72
d2 = 72*2/d1 = 72*2/16 = 9 yd

Area of the rhombus:
A = d 1 · d 2 / 2
72 = 16 · d 2 / 2
72 = 8 · d 2
d 2 = 72 : 8
Answer:
d 2 = 9 yd
