A heavily populated town, with a housing shortage, is located near one large river. The water in the river is not heavily polluted. However, the amount of rain nearby leads to large mosquito populations, which spread malaria. The death rate from malaria in the town is high.Based on this information, the population has many needs. Which resource would be most useful in helping to solve some of their more immediate needs?

Answer:

Malaria refers to a life-threatening disease resulting due to a parasite, which is transmitted among the people due to the biting of infected female Anopheles mosquitoes. However, the disease is curable and can be prevented. The spreading of the disease majorly takes place in the region, which is heavily populated, and at the same time having a greater rate of pollution issues.

In the given case, it should be the responsibility of the government to find the relocation sites for the community thriving around the region as a long-term solution for the issue. Though, if one is looking for a short-term solution, then a health care center should be established in order to provide medicines, which would help in the prevention of malaria in the affected region.
