x² = 4
x² - 4 = 0 comparing to a
x² + bx + c = 0, a = 1, b = 0, c = -4
Discriminant = b² - 4ac
b² - 4ac = 0
² - 4*1*-4 = 0 + 16 = 16
Discriminant =
16
.
option B

The discriminant is b
²-4ac
We can rewrite x² = 4 to x
² + 0x - 4 = 0
So a = 1, b = 0, c = -4
Δ = 0 - 4 * 1 * -4
Δ = 16
The answer is
B
