5x - 3(x - 3) = -6 + 6x - 5
5x - 3x + 9 = -6 + 6x - 5
2x + 9 = 6x - 11
add 11 to both sides of the equation
2x + 20 = 6x
subtract 2x from both sides of the equation
20 = 4x
divide 4 from both sides of the equation
5 = x
