Ceres, as defined by astronomists, is a dwarf planet that lies between Mars and the largest planet in the solar system, Jupiter. It is otherwise known as the largest entity that is found in the asteroid belt. This dwarf planet has a diameter of 945 kilometers or 587 miles, extremely small relative to Jupiter.
