-5/2 < -1
it is saying that -5/2 is less then -1, and therefore appears to the left of -1
less then goes to the left and greater then goes to the right

Answer:

-(5)/(2) will be on left side of
-1 on number line.

Explanation:

We have been given an inequality
-(5)/(2)<-1. We are asked to tell what does the given inequality indicates about the position of
-(5)/(2)\text{ and }-1 on the number line.

We know that the given sign in our inequality is a less than sign. Our inequality represents that
-(5)/(2) is less than
-1.

We know that as we move to the right on number line the numbers are positive and increasing. When we move to the left on number line numbers get more and more negative.

Since
-(5)/(2) is less than
-1, therefore,
-(5)/(2) will be on left side of
-1 on number line.
