Probability of getting a Head = 1/2

The number could be 3, 4, 5, or 6

Total = 4 out of the total of 6

Probability = 4 / 6 =2/3

Head and greater or equal to 3 = 1/2 * 2/3 = 1/3

D.

Answer:

D)
(1)/(3) .

Explanation:

Given : getting heads when flipping a coin and getting a number greater than or equal to 3 when rolling a single die.

To find : What is the probability of head and number greater than or equal to 3.

Solution : We have given that Flipping a coin :

Probability of getting head =
(1)/(2).

Total number of die = 1,2,3,4,5,6

Getting number 3 or greater than 3 = 3 ,4,5,6

Probability of getting 3 or greater than 3 =
(4)/(6).

=
(2)/(3).

Probability ( A and B) = P(A) * P(B).

Probability ( head and number greater than or equal to 3) =
(1)/(2) *
(2)/(3).

Probability ( head and number greater than or equal to 3) =
(2)/(6) .

Probability ( head and number greater than or equal to 3) =
(1)/(3) .

Therefore, D)
(1)/(3) .
