y – 2x = 8
16 4x = 2y

y - 2x = 8 . . . . . . . . (1)
16 + 4x = 2y . . . . . .(2)
From (1), y = 8 + 2x
substituting for y into (2), we have
16 + 4x = 2(8 + 2x) = 16 + 4x
0 = 0
Therefore, there are an infinite number of solutions
