The population of a town is 20,000 people in the year 2000. How many people with live in the town in 2016 if the population increases at a rate of 6% every 2 years? Round your answer to the nearest whole number.

2000=20,000 people
2016= ?
um one question does the population increase by 6% out of that 20,000 people or do they mean when it changes from 2000 to 2002 that you get the amount of 6% out of the amount of population in 2002 at that point to know how much it increases from 2002 to 2004 if my question makes any sense at all
