In this question avenues are parallel to each other. Distances of first avenue and second avenue from the point of intersection of Main and Oak are (140+180) ft and 140 ft respectively.

Distance of B from the point of intersection of Oak and Main is 113 ft.

Two similar triangles have been clearly formed by the first avenue and second parallel avenues.

Therefore by the property of similar triangles

(AB + 113)/113 = (280 + 140)/140 = 420/140 = 3

AB + 113 = 3 × 113

AB = 3 × 113 - 113 = 2×113 = 226 ft

Therefore Amana walks 226 ft along Oak.
