Alright so the best way I can say this is through an example.

Ex.

sin²(x) is equal to [sin(x)]² which is equal to sin(x)×sin(x)

Therefore the √sin²(x) = √[sin(x)]² which simplifies to sin(x)

This works with all trig functions
