Let the number = n
5*n = 29
n = 29/5 = 5.8
The difference between 13 and 5 times the number
13 - 5*n
13 - 5*5.8
13 - 29
= -16.

(13 - 5n) = 29
-5n = 29 - 13
-5n = 16
n = -16/5 or - 3 1/5
