we let x and y represent the two angles,
y = 2x + 6
It was stated in the problem that these angles given are a linear pair. Angles in linear pair are said to add up to 180 degrees. Thus,
y + x = 180
2x + 6 + x = 180
3x = 174
x = 58°
y = 122°
