Well if the payment is 110 that is the constant,
It increases by 20 for a total of 6 installments.
So that means that there were 7 in all.
So 20(6) since that's how many installments were made after the 110.
Then you just add 110. So 20(6)+110 or 120+110 and that equals 230.

Answer:

Option (d) is correct.

The total cost of the television set is $960.

Explanation:

Given : Mr. Brown bought a television set and paid $110 as the first installment. If he increases each payment by $20 and pays a total of 6 installments.

We have to find the total cost of the television set.

Consider the given data

Mr. Brown bought a television set and paid $110 as the first installment. If he increases each payment by $20 and pays a total of 6 installments.

Since, with every installment, the payment increases by $20

First installment = $110

Second installment = $110 + $20 = $ 130

Third installment = $130 + $20 = $ 150

Fourth installment = $150 + $20 = $ 170

Fifth installment = $170 + $20 = $ 190

Sixth installment = $1190 + $20 = $ 210

Total cost of installment = 110 + 130 + 150 + 170 + 190 + 210 = $960

Thus, The total cost of the television set is $960.
