True. Africa is one of the "wealthiest" continents in the world in terms of natural resources. The problem lies in the the way many countries are being governed. Corruption causes the wealth gap between rich and poor to increase - therefore creating a handful of rich people while most citizens are suffering/poor. Due to war, terrorism and other forms of violence, a lot of African countries (like Somalia and Sudan) are unstable and difficult to govern. Therefore it can be said that even though many African countries have good resources, they (countries) are poor because the governments are corrupt and unstable.
