We are given with a total of $ 10.00 to spend for apples and bananas. The number of pounds of apples bought is represented by x and that of bananas is
represented by y. Each apple costs $0.50 per pound
while banana costs $1.50 per pound. The expression
s represented by 0.50 x + 1.50 y = 10 or y = -0.33
x + 6.67. This function is a linear function going
downwards with a slope of -0.33 and a y-intercept
of 6.67.
