Answer: A cola cost 0.35, a can of orange cost 0.32

Explanation:

The information given in the question can be written as an equation as:

Let cola be represented by x

Let orange be represented by y

5x + 1y = 2.07 ........ i

2x + 3y = 1.66 ....... ii

Multiply equation I by 3

Multiply equation ii by 1

15x + 3y = 6.21 ........ iii

2x + 3y = 1.66 ...... iv

Subtract iv from iii

13x = 4.55

x = 4.55/13

x = 0.35

Since 5x + 1y = 2.07

5(0.35) + y = 2.07

1.75 + y = 2.07

y = 2.07 - 1.75

y = 0.32

A cola cost 0.35, a can of orange cost 0.32
