Spectator ions are those that are present in the equation for the chemical reaction but do not really participate in it. From the given, Ba2+ and (SO4)-2 combine to form BaSO4. Both the I- and Na+ remains unaffected from the reaction. Therefore, the spectator ions are I- and Na+.
