3y = -1/2x + 2 . . . . . . . . (1)
y = -x + 9 . . . . . . . . (2)
substituting (2) into (1), we have
3(-x + 9) = -1/2x + 2
-3x + 27 = -1/2x + 2
-1/2x + 3x = 27 - 2
5/2x = 25
x = (2 x 25)/5
x = 10
From (2)
y = -10 + 9
y = -1
solution (10, -1)
