During this time there was a rise of the abolitionist movement. This movement was a social movement that demanded the emancipation of all slaves and the end of all racial discrimination and segregation, one of the most famous abolitionists was William Lloyd Garrison, a publisher that created the newspaper called “Liberator”, a newspaper that called for the immediate end to slavery.
