The given equation is-

First, we use the distributive property

Then, we subtract 5 on each side

$\begin{gathered} -30-5=5x+5-5 \\ -35=5x \\ \end{gathered}$

At last, we divide the equation by 5

$\begin{gathered} (5x)/(5)=(-35)/(5) \\ x=-7 \end{gathered}$
