The perimeter (P) of any rectangular figure is calculated through the formula,
P = 2L + 2W
where L and W are length and width, respectively. With the condition that length should be twice the width, it may be expressed as L = 2W. Substituting the given values,
270 yards = 2(2W) + 2W
Solving for W gives W = 45. From this, L is equal to 90. Thus, the dimensions are W = 45 yards and L = 90 yards.
