Answer:

Equation of a line that passes through the points (6, 8) and ( -2, 4) in

slope intercept form is

y =-(1)/(2) x + 11

Explanation:

General Equation of straight line is

y-y_1 =(y_2-y_1)/(x_2-x_1)(x-x_1) ---------- (1)

Here

(x_1, y_1) = (6, 8) \ \ and \ \ (x_2, y_2) = (-2, 4)

Substituting values in (1)

y-8 =(4-8)/(-2-6)(x-6)

Simplifying it further

y-8 =-(1)/(2)(x-6)

y =-(1)/(2) x + (1)/(2) 6 + 8

y =-(1)/(2) x + 3 + 8

y =-(1)/(2) x + 11
