Ok, for substitution, you need to solve for y in terms of x, I'll do this for the first eqyation

8y=-7x+12

y=-7/8x+3/2, now plug in y in the second equation

-4x+2(-7/8x+3/2)=3, solve for x now

-4x-7/4x+3=3,

-4x-7/4x=0, x=0 now plug in 0 for either equation to solve for y

-4(0)+2y=3

2y=3, y=3/2
