Okay so in spanish what is the difference between using "somos" for we are and "estamos" for we are.

Like "we are fat" = Estamos gordos  is this right
or "Somos gordos" is this right or wrong.

Remember that "somos" is used for a permanent situation. So "Somos gordos." does mean "We are fat," but it means that we are fat forever. "Estamos gordos" would mean that we are fat, but only temporarily, so maybe we are fat because we ate a lot at lunch.
