Hello Tabby We need to solve 4x+2y= 10 for x Let's start by adding -2y to both sides 4x+2y-2y= 10-2y 4x = -2y+10 X= (-2y+10)/4 X= -1/2 y + 5/2 Now substitute -1/2 y +5/2 for x in 3x+2y=6 3( -1/2 y +5/2) +2y = 6 1/2 y + 15/2 = 6 Add -15/2 to both sides 1/2 y +15/2 -15/2 = 6-15/2 1/2 y = -3/2 Y = -3/2/1/2 Y= -3 Now substitute -3 for y in x = -1/2 y +5/2 X= -1/2 y + 5/2 X = -1/2 (-3)+5/2 X = 3/2 + 5/2 X= (3+5)/2 X=8/2 X= 4 Answer x= 4 and y= -3 I hope that's help and please if you have question feel free to ask me :)
