A train travelling at 60 mph enters a tunnel that is 5 miles long. The train is one mile long. How many minutes does it take for the whole train to pass through the tunnel?

hi. it takes 5 minutes the train to pass the tunnel.
the length of train is not important because it should go for 1 mile to entirely get in the tunnel and also should go 1 mile to entirely get out of the tunnel so the whole way that the train goes is 5 miles that is the length of the tunnel so we have:
(60 miles)/(1 hour) (5miles)/(x)⇒x=0.083 hour=5 minutes
