What is the value of the discriminant for the quadratic equation 0 = x + 2 + x2?

Discriminant = b2 – 4ac

ax^2 + bx + c = 0
x^2 + x + 2 = 0

a = 1
b = 1
c = 2

b^2 - 4ac

1^2 - 4(1)(2)
= 1 - 8
= -7

The value of the discriminant is -7.
