What is the expression for "the difference between five times a number and twice that number"?

The answer to this question is 5x - 2x. Let x be the unknown variable and five times a number is equal to 5x then subtract it by the twice of that number which is 2x. In solving problems like this you have to let a certain variable represent the unknown.
