The type of tissue that functions as an absorber of digested nutrients is epithelial tissue which are tightly packed cells, single or multiple layers of cells and continuous sheets. Connective tissues are for bones, tendons, fat and other soft padding tissue. Muscle tissue contracts to cause muscle movements. Nervous tissues are for brain, spinal cord, and nerves.
