This is an act of plagiarism.
Plagiarism means the practice of taking someone else's work, words or ideas and passing them as their own. Plagiarism is often called 'copying' or 'borrowing'.
The most common type of plagiarism is direct plagiarism which is the word-to-word transcription of a section of somebody else's work. This is done without attribution, question marks or mention of the author. Direct plagiarism can lead to disciplinary actions, such as expulsion from a school or college.
Other types of plagiarism are: self plagiarism ( mixing pieces of work done earlier and not allowed to be presented any longer ), mosaic plagiarism ( borrowing phrases from a source without quotation marks ), and accidental plagiarism ( neglecting to cite the source or unintentional copying).
