Help ASAP!!! A cayenne pepper stalk produces 4 peppers without adding fertilizer. The agriculture department establishes that the number of pods produced can be increased by adding fertilizer to the soil. The linear relationship between the number of pepper pods produced and the amount (ounces) of fertilizer added can be modeled by

y = 2.5x + 4.
1. Interpret the slope of the equation
2. Interpret the y-intercept of the equation
3. How many pepper pods can be expected after adding 1.6 ounces of fitilizer to the soil?

Answer:

1. slope= 2.5

2. y-intercept= 0,4

3. Plug in 1.6 for X: y=2.5(1.6)+4=8 so it would be 8 .

1. For every ounce of fertilizer 2.5 more pepper pods can be expected.

2. When no fertilizer is added, 4 pepper pods can be expected.

3. 8 pepper pods. Plug in 1.6 for X: y=2.5(1.6)+4=8
