If you would like to simplify 4(x + 5) - 2(x - 3), you can do this using the following steps:

4(x + 5) - 2(x - 3) = 4x + 4 * 5 - 2x + 2 * 3 = 2x + 20 + 6 = 2x + 26

If you would like to simplify 4(x - 5) - 2(x - 3), you can do this using the following steps:

4(x - 5) - 2(x - 3) = 4x - 4 * 5 - 2x + 2 * 3 = 2x - 20 + 6 = 2x - 14
