The US invaded Iraq under the presidency of George H.W. Bush in order to kick Iraqi forces out of Kuwait. After Kuwait was liberated US troops left but the dictator of Iraq (Saddam Hussein) remained in power. George H.W. Bush's son George Bush invaded Iraq after 9/11 because he believed Iraq helped AlQaeda terrorists and had weapons of mass destruction, both of these turned out to be a lie and it led to violence throughout the middle east up to this day and eventually gave rise to ISIS.
