During that time women had to work because most of the men were off to the war so the government needed people who could work instead of men, because the economy was really bad. Women not only had the opportunity to do the same that the men did but they felt free. They were the men in the house also because without their husband to help them they had to do everything, so they also felt strong

1. The war greatly affected the amount of personal liberty that women had. As men were not around, women needed to take care of responsibilities that had previously fallen unto men. As more women became aware of their capabilities, feminism gained traction.
2. The economy affected the choices that women had. Even women who were not interested in working outside of the home had to do so in order to keep the economy going and support their families. This brought them into the public sphere in an unprecedented way.
3. The war changed the role that women played, as they actively collaborated in the effort. Women became nurses who helped soldiers in the front and back home. They also ran charities that contributed to the war effort. Moreover, as many men were gone, women needed to take the jobs that had become vacant.
4. There were many opportunities available for women at this time, such as more freedom of movement, increased independence and availability of jobs. However, they also faced challenges such as increased responsibilities and discrimination.
