Denotation is the literal meaning of a word. There are two meanings for the word "pressure"

Meaning 1: Pressure might mean the use of persuasion to make someone do something.
Example: "Anna put pressure on her little sister to make her wash dishes."

Meaning 2: The continuous physical force used on or against something, like an object.
Example: "Justin put pressure on his hand to stop the cut from bleeding."
